Friday Feature: Khushi T. Saha

Today we're chatting with Khushi T. Saha who brings us interracial romances with tons of heat, passion, and a healthy infusion of love. HEA is an ALWAYS! 😍😍😍

Can you tell us a bit about you and how you got into writing?

I'm known to be a notorious daydreamer. Ask anyone close to me and they’ll tell you I can be a positive, mushy person, too. Enter in ‘writing romance novels’: what began as self-care to overcome personal trauma, evolved into something much more fulfilling. Bringing stories of angst, personal growth, and passion (the steamier the better!) with some snarky humor to romantics all around has become a hunger I can’t seem to satiate😊. With six books already under my belt (my most recent, Free Fall, came out May 15th), I already have another story percolating!

Because I'm a first-generation Bangladeshi—born and raised in the US—the connection to the motherland is fierce for me. You’ll find South Asian nuances/representations purposely sprinkled throughout my novels because it was important for me to showcase how I grew up straddling two very strong cultures and becoming the person I am today (dating missteps and romance included:).

When I'm not writing, I manage my craft business and teaching, I'm obsessed with gardening in the spring and summer months, running around with my boys and pup, and binge-watching murder shows/podcasts.

Did you always know you wanted to be an author?

Absolutely not. I never considered myself anything close to a writer! I've always been more visual and creative with my hands.

If you could have dinner with any character from your book, who would you choose?

I think I would choose Mariam Abbas who is the MFC in my Unravelled Duet. She had a tough childhood growing up and is biracial. She's become a badass who can take care of herself. I would love to sit and just shoot the sh*t with her:)

Do you have any specific writing rituals?

I need to do a very rough outline before I begin writing. I usually touch base with my editor in order to get the "greenlight" on if the characters are strong enough and if she sees any plot holes. Other than that, I really do need quiet, uninterrupted time to write. The evenings after my boys are in bed usually become that time, with a finger of whiskey sitting beside me occasionally.

Can you give us a hint about any current or future projects you’re excited about?

I'm excited and nervous about attending my first conference in August as an author. I will be attending Steamy Lit Con - a romance conference that celebrates diversity in romance.

I'm also extremely excited about my next story idea which includes a crazy, happy-go-lucky MMC who walks on the wild side of life, and a stoic FMC who has secrets of her own.
