Quinn Slater grew up in the Midwest where he still lives today with his wife and two dogs. Besides being a writer of steamy stories, he is also a gym rat, avid traveler, and loves a good dirty joke.

Can you tell us a bit about you and how you got into writing?
First and foremost, I’m a guy writing romance and erotica, so you definitely get a males point of view. And I don’t mess around. I make sure the women in my books are satisfied. I started writing in middle school but didn’t start taking it seriously until I popped into a Yahoo chat room back in the day. In the chat room, I wrote some things for people, and they suggested I write books. So I did. I went to graduate school to work on my creative writing and did quiet well, though romance and erotica were not what they were expecting me to write when I graduated.
Did you always know you wanted to be an author?
The first book my parents ever bought me was a Grimm’s Fairytale collection. I loved it and decided I wanted to write stories like that. My very first story was a Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory knockoff. I put my own spin on the story. I’ve tried to quit writing several times but things keep happening in my head and I need to get them out on paper. I love exploring my imagination and what can be done both inside and outside the bedroom.
If you could have dinner with any character from your book, who would you choose?
Nicole from my Nicole books. Writing her was such a pleasure. She was my ideal woman, and the first book I wrote. She gets to explore her sexuality and put men in their places, but she’s also submissive. Having said that, I like strong female characters. I have a hard time reading in the genre because too many female characters are dainty and can’t seem to find their way out of a wet paper bag. Women want a man who knows what to do. A man wants the same thing.

Do you have any specific writing rituals?
Not really. I have three screens in front of me, so I can have the story open on one and Internet browsers on the two others so I can research. I have found that I write better while on a cruise ship out on the ocean. It’s peaceful, unlike home, where I’m constantly bothered.
Can you give us a hint about any current or future projects you’re excited about?
I’m into the fourth book of my Brothers of Chaos series. The series has been fun to write because I don’t write normal MC series. I like to experiment. Most of the time it works out. I also write under the name Kane Daemon and I’m working on the second book in a Harem series called Hell’s Academy. Kane also has an MC series called Hell’s Justice. I also have a serial killer book coming out under my real name. That’s been fun to watch. People will ask what’s wrong with me when they read it.
